Sue Mann .

Sue Mann is an artist working on Gower’s doorstep in Killay. Painting has been her driving force since the age of 12. Her motto is to create forever, her creativity extends to writing and songwriting.

Her professional training examined reconstruction from observation, the nature of character, landscape and metaphor. Her current focus leads her to respond outside at the mercy of animals, insects and the elements inventing equipment to suit, for example a bike-top easel. She makes her own oils and egg tempera paint.

Available only in person to studio visitors, are her most recent investigations into more subtle land-related responses, an investigation developed during the pandemic. She tutors occasionally around pigment preparation, frame-making, site recces, inventing and enjoying the land. She has led Egg Tempera with Natural Pigments workshops from West Wales to North Norfolk. She has exhibited solo and in groups, in West Wales, Pontardawe, Swansea, Cardiff, Pontypool, Gloucester, Chelsea, Hampstead, North Norfolk, Artworld Falmouth, Falmouth Art Gallery, Venice, is represented in Queen Street Gallery, Neath and has a handful of prizes in plein air competitions. is represented in Queen Street Gallery, Neath, previously in Artworld Falmouth and Riverside, Ystradgynlais. Her work is collected in the UK, US and Venice.
